Repair
Minor adjustments and repairs are performed in-house as part of our general restoration process. Examples include replacement of beam splitters on screw mount Leicas and viewfinder glass for M bodies. Our AR-coated (anti-reflection) viewfinder glass offers a valuable upgrade, conveniently integrated since the old (often scratched or marred) glass must be removed prior to painting.
We collaborate with experts like Don Goldberg, Youxin Ye, and other prominent techs for complete overhauls (“CLA”), replacement shutter curtains, prism repair and other specialty services.They have the experience and proper tools to address almost any problem.
Restoration
Paint: durable ceramic coatings with a plethora of color options.
Ding/dent removal: some of which can be quite challenging to completely eliminate depending on the magnitude and the location.
Engraving removal: removal success depends on variables such as how deep and the location.
Scratches: generally surface scratches are not difficult to remove. Deeper scratches require more time and prep work so they will not be visible through the paint.
Viewfinder glass: replace old, scratched, marred, or scarred viewfinder glass with modern anti-reflection coated glass.
We will share our opinions and expectations with regards to rectifying cosmetic flaws and how much time, effort, and cost will be required to eliminate or if that isn’t possible, to mitigate their visual impact so they are less noticeable.
